Custard Sauce

🥘 Ingredients

bourbon1 tbsp

cornstarch2.25 tsp

egg yolks2

half and half1.5 c

sugar2 tbsp

vanilla1 tbsp

- medium saucepan
- balloon whisk

1Heat half and half in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat for ⏱️ 4 minutes or until it comes to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat.half and half: 1.5 c

2Use a balloon whisk on high speed to whisk together egg yolks , sugar , and cornstarch in a bowl until pale and creamy. Gradually whisk in the milk mixture on low speed. Add vanilla . Return to pan.egg yolks: 2, sugar: 2 tbsp, cornstarch: 2.25 tsp, vanilla: 1 tbsp

3Place over medium heat and stir with a wooden spoon for ⏱️ 8 minutes or until the custard thickens and coats the back of a spoon. Do not boil.

4Remove from heat. Stir in bourbon .bourbon: 1 tbsp

5Serve warm or store in an airtight container in the fridge until required.
